Inspired by CAD, Blanca Vazquez Goes To Netroots Nation and Occupies OFA Oakland

Posted by CAD2012

Blanca Vasquez cited CAD as her inspiration to earn a scholarship to Netrots Nation 2012. Not long after returning from the progressive conference, she joined three others in doing a sit-in at the OFA office in Oakland.

We salute Blanca for her dedication to the movement and for crediting CAD as her inspiration. Here is what she said about CAD:

“I had the recent privilege of working with the Campaign for an American DREAM which sponsors a group of undocumented students on a historical voyage walking across the country while advocating for the federal Dream Act. I had the opportunity of seeing first hand through press releases, canvassing, and even through a congressional meeting how social policies affect those who do not exactly have the power to make their opinion heard. It is through this campaign that I have learned that we have to educate our communities because at times the community is not aware of what the policies they should know about.”
