A cross-country walk that began in California in support of better immigration policies will make a stop in Reno today.
The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN) in Reno, will be welcoming 5 young students part of the Campaign for an American DREAM (CAD), a cross country walk by undocumented and ally walkers in support of the federal DREAM Act and fairer immigration policies.
Five dreamers will be at PLAN’s office at 821 Riverside Drive, at 1 pm today.
After the media interviews, the student will walk to UNR through South Virginia to attend the Cesar Chavez event at the Rotunda at the Knowledge Center at 3:30 pm
The walkers have completed the first two weeks of the eight-month trek in California, now will engage with communities in Carson City, Reno, Fernley, Winnemucca and other cities and towns in their way to Utah. CAD walkers have been sharing with, and learning from, the communities they have come across.
