Easter Week

Wednesday was such a refreshing day. We had to split up into teams so that we could be at multiple places. Nico and I decided to tag the walking aspect of the day. Our goal was to make up miles for the past day. Little did we know that with a little motivation we could go above and beyond in doing just that. We walked a total of 30 miles from 12pm- 6:30 p.m. The scenery was outstanding. The walk its self was on a trail called “Emigrant Trail”, which I later learned has great history from the 1850’s.
We walked for about 17 miles on this trail that led us to the desert. There were no roads, cars, buildings or people anywhere near us. It seemed like a 4-wheeler trail because it was really narrow. Nico and I had great conversations about life and about what we were going to do after the walk is over. During our adventure we came across a Geometric Power plant. It was in the middle of nowhere and it really got me thinking about the reasons why it was placed in that exact location. We started talking about the possibilities of radiation and other waves we were being exposed to. Jokingly we continued to walk and approached a sign that read, “Do not touch or go near any pipes or lines or you could be seriously burned.” Nico and I looked at each other as I approached a huge pipe that was about as thick as my body. I was using GPS on my phone to make sure we were going the right way. When I went under it, my phone froze up and then restarted itself. After that it would not load. All it did was cycle during the reboot process over and over again. I tried everything I could think of to get it to start but it all failed.
Once we were finally picked up by our team 3 hours later, I tried my phone once again. It was then that I realized how much radiation we were being exposed to out in the dessert. If it had enough power to destroy my phone, imagine what it was doing to our body.
Today is Easter and this will be the first time I am away from my family on this special day. God has done so much for me during this past year that I cannot help but to feel blessed. Although I am not with them today, I know how special this day is to us. Easter is about being reborn into life once again with new beginnings and putting things into new perspectives. I thank God so much for dying for my sins and for loving me with unconditional love. I miss my nephews so much. Christopher, Jayden and baby Braxton I think about you guys everyday and I can not wait to hang out with you guys once again. Family I will see you soon, I love you all more and more every day.
