This system is whack! I got a call from Lucas Silva the other day that still has me shaken up. Lucas was one of the young men that started walking with us in San Francisco. He and I became really close and I can honestly say that it truly broke my heart to hear that his father passed away.

Lucas’ father was deported three years ago to Brazil for driving without a license and he has since then not been near his family. Lucas is one of the many individuals who’s families are ripped apart due to the heartless individuals running our jacked up immigration system. It is amazing to me how we live our daily events not stopping to think that this type of turning events are happening everyday thought our country. This broken immigration system prevents people like Lucas and his family from seeing their loved ones.

What if this was your father? What if this was you? Why are we still having these jacked up immigration laws prevent us from being near our loved ones? Are people really that heartless that they careless about the death of a father? What type of nation are we still living in today? What are you doing to prevent this from happing? This is ridicules and I hope that I am not the only one that feels disgusted that in 2012 we can still not solve this issue.

My heart goes out to a great loved friend and one who I know has gone through a lot due to these ignorant individuals that want to control our lives simply because we were not born in this country. I’ll be damn if I keep quite about this! Lucas buddy you are in my prays everyday and I will never stop being here for you bro! God Bless you and your Family!
